Dear fall! How to adapt your home to the change of season

21 Sep 2020

With the arrival of autumn, a feeling of reboot similar to the one we feel at the beginning of the year is installed in us. Especially in houses where there are children, going back to school becomes an exciting event to which we dedicate a lot of time and attention. In September it is common to prepare our body and mind for the return to routine; some even apply special beauty care or make a makeover.
In the same way, it is advisable to prepare our home for the change of season. Doing a thorough cleaning or replacing some decorative elements helps us to renew our energy and get in tune with the new situation. During the cleaning of our home it is important to evaluate what objects we use and bring us happiness, and which have become a nuisance. It is not about replacing everything we have at home, as we are looking for a sustainable way to renew its appearance. In addition, we recommend making a short guide before starting and going step by step so that the task does not pile up in every corner, because this cleaning is designed to bring us happiness!
The air conditioning will be one of those objects that takes a back seat with the new station. Before we put the remote control away and completely forget about it, we need to clean its filters and get it ready to work at full capacity next year. We will do the same with the fireplace -if you have one at home-: in this case, we will review it to make sure that the smoke outlet works correctly and is ready to be turned on when temperatures drop.
We can also pay attention to our home textiles: we talk about curtains, bedding and cushions. Surely you have some fabrics typical of the fall season, either because of their texture or because of their brown tones. If this is not the case, we invite you to get some natural fiber cushion covers.
In houses with children, autumn is a good opportunity to play and learn at the same time. You can talk as a family about the changes that the new season brings. The falling of the dry leaves is a great excuse to walk together in the park or go out to the field. You can even propose some manual work thanks to the many possibilities that these colored leaves give us on paper: the limit is set by your imagination!
